What is a Product Feed?

A product feed is a structured data file that contains all key information about your products—essentially a digital catalog that advertising platforms like Meta (Facebook/Instagram) and Google can read and understand.

Why Do We Need Feeds?

When you run dynamic product ads, platforms need to know which products you sell. Instead of manually creating ads for each product, a product feed enables automated and scalable catalog-based advertising by:

  • Syncing your product information in real-time

  • Automatically creating ads that reflect current product data

  • Retargeting users with specific product ads based on their website behavior

What Information Goes into a Feed?

A product feed includes essential details such as:

  • Product images and titles

  • Prices and stock availability

  • Descriptions and categories

  • Custom labels for segmentation

  • Unique product identifiers

How Does It Work in Practice?

Once your feed is connected to an advertising platform:

  • Ads are dynamically generated based on feed data

  • Customers see personalized product ads (e.g., recently viewed items)

  • All ads remain up-to-date with current inventory and pricing

This process reduces manual effort and ensures accuracy across platforms.

How Bigatom Leverages Product Feeds

Bigatom uses your product feed to power intelligent campaign automation across Meta and Google. We offer three flexible feed management approaches, each tailored to different business needs.

Bigatom's Feed Solutions

1. Bigatom Base Feed

What it is:
A complete, Bigatom-generated feed that replaces your existing one. We integrate directly with your backend (Shopify, Magento, or custom platforms) via API or CSV to create a new, optimized feed.

How it works:
We extract product data, format it for Meta and Google, and build a new feed from scratch.

Best suited for:

  • Brands new to catalog ads

  • Businesses with poor-quality or outdated feeds

  • Clients needing a complete restructure of feed data

Advantages:

  • Full control over feed structure and quality

  • Optimized for best platform performance

Limitations:

  • May disrupt existing campaign performance due to new product IDs

  • Historical performance data may not carry over

2. Bigatom Transformed Feed (Recommended)

What it is:
An enhancement layer on your existing feed. We retain the base feed and only update specific columns using Bigatom's logic and rules.

How it works:
Bigatom monitors your existing feed and selectively modifies fields like labels, status, or images—without changing core product data or IDs.

Best suited for:

  • Brands with existing campaigns they want to preserve

  • Clients seeking a performance-safe upgrade

  • Businesses with working feeds but needing added intelligence

What We Update:

  • Meta:

    • Internal Label (e.g., “Best Sellers Top 25%” groupings)

    • Status (e.g., auto-archive based on stop-loss logic)

    • Images (dynamic creative overlays)

  • Google:

    • Custom Labels (for segmentation)

    • Excluded Destination (for removing low-performing products from ads)

Advantages:

  • No risk to existing campaigns or learnings

  • Fast implementation with intelligent enhancements

Limitations:

  • Requires compatible structure in your existing feed

  • Some advanced features depend on original feed quality

3. Content API Integration

What it is:
An API-based solution (ideal for Shopify native Meta/Google integrations) that updates product info directly without traditional feed files.

How it works:
We push real-time updates to Meta and Google via their respective APIs (Batch API and Content API), updating attributes like status, images, or labels.

Best suited for:

  • Enterprise clients with >1M SKUs

  • Businesses using Shopify/Meta native connections

  • Brands needing real-time updates for fast-moving inventory

Advantages:

  • Highly scalable

  • Real-time product updates

Limitations:

  • Requires complex technical setup

  • Depends on API limits and stability
