Overview
The Stock Status Configuration feature allows merchants to define sophisticated rules for determining product availability across their catalog. This feature enables nuanced control over how products are displayed as "In Stock" or "Out of Stock" to customers, based on variant availability and inventory thresholds.
Configuration Options
Basic Availability Rules
Choose one of the following methods to determine product availability:
Rule Type | Description | Use Case |
Any Variant Available | Mark product as "In Stock" if at least one variant is available | Best for products where any size/color option is acceptable to customers |
Percentage Threshold | Mark product as "In Stock" if the percentage of available variants exceeds a specified threshold | Recommended setting: 60% - Ideal for most brands |
Variant Count | Mark product as "In Stock" if the number of available variants is greater than a specified count | Useful for products with many variants where a minimum selection is desirable |
Core Size Configuration
Define essential sizes that must be in stock for a product to be considered available.
Features:
Category-specific rules: Set different core sizes for different product categories
Percentage threshold: Define what percentage of core sizes must be in stock (per category)
Fallback condition: Option to define universal condition across all categories where no size has been selected
Data-Driven Size Recommendations
To assist with core size selection, the system provides intelligent recommendations:
Recommended Sizes: Top-performing sizes are highlighted with a star (β ) based on the last 30 days of sales data
Sales Contribution: Each variant displays its sales contribution percentage, showing which sizes contribute to the top 80% of sales in each category
Performance Trends: Click the chart icon to view a 30-day trend analysis showing:
Number of sales per variant
Revenue generated per variant
Note: Recommended sizes and trend data are only available for clients who share variant-level sales data in their feeds.
Configuration Process:
Select a product category level
The categories in that level will show up below
Choose the core sizes for each category (recommended sizes are highlighted)
Set the percentage of those core sizes that must be in stock
Review sales contribution data to refine your selection
Repeat for other categories as needed
Advanced Inventory Controls
Minimum Inventory Quantity
Define a threshold quantity below which a variant is considered out of stock by clicking on three dots
Example: Set a minimum of 3 units - variants with only 1-2 items will be treated as "Out of Stock"
Note: This feature is only available for clients who include inventory quantity data in their product feeds.
Default Fallback Rules
Configure rules for categories without specific core size settings
Standard recommendation: Mark product as "In Stock" if β₯60% of variants are available
Customize percentage based on business needs
Implementation Guide
Step 1: Access Stock Status Configuration
Navigate to Save Budget > Core Size Configuration > Stock Status Configuration
Step 2: Select Availability Rule
Choose your preferred method for determining availability across your catalog
OR Configure Core Sizes
For each relevant product category:
Select the category
Choose core sizes from the available size options (starred variants β are recommended based on sales data)
Review the sales contribution percentages displayed under each variant
Set the required percentage threshold for those sizes
Use the trend chart (chart icon) to view 30-day performance data when making selections
Step 3: Set Fallback condition (Mandatory)*
Define fallback rules for unconfigured categories by defining the percentage of variant availability to consider a product as instock
Step 4: Save and Apply
Click "Save" to apply these rules to your product catalog
Best Practices
Apparel Retailers: Core size configuration is highly recommended, focusing on most common sizes
General Merchandise: Percentage threshold (60%) works well for most product categories
Limited Inventory Items: Consider using the minimum inventory quantity feature to prevent displaying items with critically low stock
Monitor and Adjust: Review how availability displays affect customer behavior and adjust as needed
Use Data-Driven Decisions: Leverage the recommended sizes and sales contribution data to make informed choices about which variants are truly critical for availability status
Feature Requirements and Limitations
The following data must be included in your product feeds for full functionality:
Feature | Required Data |
Basic Availability Rules | Variant data |
Core Size Configuration | Variant data |
Minimum Inventory Quantity | Inventory quantity data |
Size Recommendations | Variant-level sales data from the last 30 days |
Sales Contribution % | Variant-level sales data |
Trend Analysis | Variant-level sales data from the last 30 days |
If certain data is not provided, the corresponding features will be unavailable or limited.
