In BigAtom, you can create granular product categorization (L1, L2, and L3) to analyze performance at multiple layers. This allows brands to not only track how products perform across categories but also use these categories dynamically in ads.

Steps to Define Categories

1) Navigate to Settings from the left-hand panel.

2) Click on Source Feed Mapping.

3) Select Define Attribute Rules.

4) Click on Create New Rule (top-right corner).

5) Under “Which field would you like to change”, select the category level (L1, L2, or L3) from the dropdown.

6) Assign a category name – this will appear in Product Analytics and other sections of the tool.

7) Define the rule for categorization by choosing attributes. For example:

  • If you want to create a category for “Men Shirt” at Level 2:

    • Set rule as: “Category” contains “Shirt” AND “Gender” contains “Male”.

  • You can create similar rules for different category levels.

8) Click Apply to see the affected product count – this shows how many products fall under the defined condition.

9) Give the rule a reference name and click Save.

10) The rule is now created. It may take up to 2 hours for the changes to reflect in analytics and other tabs.

Important Notes

  • Be cautious when selecting “Which field would you like to change”.

  • If you choose the wrong level, existing conditions may be overridden.

    • Example: If you accidentally set a rule under Category Level 1 instead of Category Level 2, the Level 1 categorization could be replaced.
